Thomas Betton's Charity supports Church of England voluntary aided primary schools in England and Wales.
The Company works in partnership with the Church of England Board of Education and Diocesan Directors of Education to identify schools facing challenging circumstances, predominantly in areas with high levels of deprivation. Grants are made for educational activities and/or resources that are additional to those usually funded by the State. Through its involvement over a number of years, the Company aims to help schools achieve planned improvements.
Appeals are not accepted directly from individual schools. It is suggested that interested schools contact their Diocesan Director of Education.
In exceptional circumstances only, support is given to other schools that are educational charities and where religious instruction is in accordance with the principles of the Church of England. Grants are made for educational activities benefiting students from disadvantaged backgrounds, with a preference for technology projects related to the use of iron and steel.
